Mahabharat AI version release on Waves OTT
The epic tale Mahabharat is set to return in a new avatar. The AI version of Mahabharat will premiere exclusively on Waves OTT on October 25, 2025, marking a milestone in digital storytelling. The series, recreated with the help of artificial intelligence, aims to bring a modern visual experience while preserving the cultural essence of the timeless saga.
Following its OTT debut, Mahabharat will air on Doordarshan every Sunday starting November 2.
Prasar Bharati CEO Gaurav Dwivedi said that the initiative reflects India’s commitment to preserving and promoting stories of national and cultural importance. “During the lockdown, the re-telecast of the original Mahabharat reminded us of the timeless power of these narratives that unite generations,” he added.
The project embodies the spirit of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’, showcasing how technology and tradition can merge to celebrate India’s heritage.
