Announcing the event, Shri Rakesh Sachan, Minister for MSME, Khadi, Handloom, and Textiles, said that these Swadeshi Melas will bring the essence of the “Vocal for Local” campaign to every district and strengthen the mission of “Aatmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh.”

The fairs will feature stalls by local artisans, entrepreneurs, self-help groups, and small industries, allowing them to exhibit and sell handmade, eco-friendly, and traditional products directly to consumers.
Departments like Khadi & Village Industries, ODOP, Handloom, MUDRA, CM Yuva, Vishwakarma Shram Samman, Rural Livelihood Mission, and the MSME Department will participate to promote government schemes and local craftsmanship.

Cultural departments will add vibrancy to the events through folk art, traditional dance, and music performances, making the melas not just business expos but full-fledged cultural festivals.
District administrations have been instructed to organize grand inaugurations with participation from local ministers, MPs, MLAs, and community leaders.

Shri Sachan added that small entrepreneurs will be given free stalls to encourage direct marketing of indigenous products. “When people buy local clay lamps, khadi fabrics, and handmade décor items this Diwali, they light not only their homes but also the lives of thousands of village artisans,” he said.

The Swadeshi Melas aim to boost rural employment, women empowerment, and MSME growth, creating new opportunities for sustainable development.
This initiative is expected to strengthen the local economy and contribute to the broader vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-reliant India).
