PM Modi to Inaugurate SEMICON India 2025 in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India 2025 on September 2 in New Delhi. The mega event will focus on boosting India’s semiconductor ecosystem, with over 2,500 delegates from 48+ countries expected to attend.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fourth edition of SEMICON India 2025 on September 2 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. The flagship event is a key step in India’s ambition to emerge as a global semiconductor powerhouse.

This year’s edition will host over 2,500 delegates from more than 48 countries, bringing together global industry leaders, policymakers, academia, and students under the theme “Building the Next Semiconductor Powerhouse.”

India’s semiconductor journey has accelerated under the Semicon India Programme, which has already approved 10 major projects, including fabrication units, compound semiconductors, 3D packaging, and assembly facilities. These initiatives aim to strengthen India’s role in the global chip value chain.

To foster innovation, more than 280 institutes and 72 start-ups have been granted access to advanced chip design tools. Additionally, 23 start-ups have been approved under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, working on indigenous chip solutions for applications such as CCTV, navigation systems, communication, motor controllers, and microprocessors.

SEMICON India 2025 is expected to serve as a platform for collaborations, investments, and new technology exchanges, reinforcing India’s vision of becoming self-reliant and globally competitive in the semiconductor domain.
